This coffee is built from 2 different peaberries lots.

The first lot is from the Karora washing station, it's cherries brought in from the local small holder farmers in Kibuye Town.
The second lot originates from Rugamba washing station, the cherries brought in from the same nearby area.

Variety: Bourbon
Processing: Fully washed
Altitude: 1700-1800 m.
Delicate, warming, floral and intense coffee with flavor notes like black currant, grapefruit, herbal and hibiscus.

Great mouthfeel, very textured. Good balance of bitters and sweetness with lots of brightness and fruit. With some hints of lavender and cacao.

 

Karora washing station:

This station is owned by a cooperative of coffee farmers and was established in 2014 and operated it's first season that year. This is a region where each family takes a coffee farm with pride, 19 coffee farmers came together and realized an opportunity to invest in their community and process their own coffee.

  • This washing station is located in the West province in the Karongi district. Altitude: 1735-1800 masl
  • The variety is bourbon and the preparation is fully washed with wet fermentation and is sun dried on raised beds.
  • Using a Pennagos pulping machine.

Rugamba washing station:

The Rugamba wet mill was constructed in 2009 and is located on the shores of Lake Kivu where they process cherries grown int he hills surrounding the lake and a high altitude in a rich volcanic soil.

The station is equiped with a 3-disk McKinnon pulping machine, fermentation tanks and drying beds. They receive coffees from over 1500 farmers.

  • This washing station is located in the West province in the Rutsiro district. Altitude: 1720 masl
  • The variety is bourbon and the preparation is fully washed with wet fermentation and is sun dried on raised beds.
